ANGLICAN BISHOP QUITS AFTER NIGHT VISIT.
BUTERE ANGLICAN BISHOP QUITS AFTER NIGHT VISIT.
BY Joel Eshikumo.
According to informed sources, the Bishop who has never heard peace since he took over the leadership from the previous prelate was troubled.
Bishop Wambunya hit headlines as being among the first Kenyans to contract the deadly Covid-19 virus on his return from a UK trip.
At Butere dioceses, the prelate had been unceremoniously removed from the board of Butere Girls high school a school whose land he attempted to lease to shadowy Business man Julius Mwale Owing to their UK links.
It took direct intervention of Kakamega Governor Whycliffe Oparanya to have the land deal canceled after he questioned the entire deal that was to see Mr. Mwale lease the land for 99 years.
The two acre land is the property of Chadwick collage the ACK-tied sponsors of Butere Girls high school.
Sources indicated that the Bishop had secured a job as a Vicar at the UK based St Paul's Slough and that he had already left the county, albait secretly.
Writing on their website about their new catch, St Paul's slough says: We are delighted to be able to announce that our new Vicar will be Rt Revd Capt Dr Timothy Wambunya.
They continue: This is a very exciting appointment and it heralds an exciting new chapter in the life and growth of St Paul’s. Tim joins us from his current role as Anglican Bishop of the Diocese of Butere in Kenya and he will be greatly missed in the Diocese. We look forward to welcoming Tim and his family to the Parish soon.
In a short video on the site, shot from an unknown location, the Prelate himself, dressed in gowns, confirms that indeed he was no longer in Butere as Bishop.
Many Christians describe Bishop Tim's reign at Butere as pure terrorism that was shrouded in secrecy.
A month ago after being discharged from iloation, the Bishop secretly drove into Butere Doicese at night and went into his official office.
According 5o a night guard who is on record, Bishop Tim in the dead of the night emerged from his office with a pile of documents in files and told the watchman not 5o reveal to anybody that he was around.
It was not immediately established what documents he had carted away but insiders suspect crucial bank documents related to a court case in which money was withdrawn from the accounts secretly could be gone.
Other documents suspected to be missing include contentious land title deeds land on which several parishes sit.
We are in possession of several letters from different Parishes including Manyulia and Khwisero that had wanted to be elevated to dioceses level.
According to our insider, the dioceses was yet to receive his resignation letter. ENDS.
