VACATE MUMIAS TRIANGLE LAND- COUNTY CHIEF OFFICER.

THE on going cultivation of County Land by locals in Mumias could delay the affordable housing project set for later this year.  This was revealed yesterday by Kakamega County Chief Officer For Housing and Urban development Madam Faith Gitira.  Speaking at Mumias municipal hall during a handing and taking over of the Town Manager, the CO told the provincial administration and local leaders to help take invaders to the contested land.  She said she was aware that the land matter in Mumias was emotive adding the earlier the invaders are stopped the better since the county was ready to roll out a development plan on the approximate 13 Acre land along Ekero Mumias road.  "People are cultivating crops on that land the local administration must help us this early to prevent them because that is grabbing county land and could delay development" She said.  Outgoing Mumias town Manager Mr. Christopher Ombunya (right) and incoming Mr. Aggrey Musindalo. KAKAMEGA MCA IN RENT DISPUTE WITH MUMIAS WIDOW

MARAMA West MCA Boaz Omukunda is locked in a tussle with a mumias widow over hundreds of shillings in unpaid house rent.  According to papers filled at the Rent Tibunal Court and seen by Eshikumo2030, the Widow, Catherine Barasa has sued the MCA seeking to have him compelled to pay over Ksh 250,000. An affidavit dated 10th February 2023, the applicant landlady says the respondent rented her premises in Ekero in 2016 for a monthly rent of Ksh 20,000 and signed a tendency agreement and the terms. The rent was agreeably raised to Ksh 25,000 and later the tenant stealthily removed his property from the commercial house but left it locked. Hon. Omukunda, according to court papers, owes the lady a total of Ksh 275,000 in rent arrears for the months of April 2022 to February 2023. Investigations reveal that the tenant tempered with the original firm of the house by demolishing middle walls and leaving it at risk of collapse contrary to the terms of the tenency contract.  The secon

Women doing business in Westlands Constituency have received a major boost after Mama Twende Programme officially entered into a partnership with ISBI Team, an affiliate of Strathmore University Business School. The partnership is meant to offer training to women in business on best practices for running Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Mama Twende Programme is one of the flagship projects initiated by area MP Tim Wanyonyi. The programme involves empowering women through table banking as well as training of women through technical courses such as Hair and beauty, catering, fashion and design, driving and business training. Through this initiative, the businesswomen are equipped with requisite skills to be self-reliant and financially liberated thus giving them a platform to independently make decisions that affect their day to day life. Chairman Ralph Wangatia during the Head counting Exercise.  Kakamega County Public Service Board this week conducted a County Human Resource Audit exercise to ascertain the number of County Government staff and verify their academic credentials.  The excercise that kicked off Wednesday at the Sub-County level under the supervision of the Chairperson of the Board CS Catherine Omweno came to conclusion on Friday at the County Headquarters in Kakamega and Mumias Municipalities, Likuyani and the County General Hospital.  County employees presented themselves before Members of the Board with their original and copies of required documents including National Identify card, letter of appointment, current payslip and academic qualifications. BARASA TELLS OFF SAVULA OVER CO-GOVERNOR SLUR.

AZIMIO Kakamega candidate for Governor Fernandes Barasa yesterday told off his Deputy over claims that they had already shared Government.  Speaking while meeting Religious leaders at Bukhungu, Barasa appeared to rail at Savula's claim that already they had shared positions in the yet to be formed county government. Barasa said Hon Ayub Savula was his Deputy and that their intension was to win the elections and form an all inclusive government for everyone. "Forget about stories of dividing this government I to  nusu mkate  we intend to bring everyone on board including the Clergy" Saud Barasa. BUTERE MCA CANDIDATE NURSING WOUNDS AFTER FUNERAL STAMPEDE.

BY SAMSON Okwomi.  An MCA candidate for Marenyo Shianda Livingston Eshitikha is nursing a leg injury after a stampede at a funeral in Butere The DAP-k candidate got the injury as he attempted to run away from mourners who had mobbed him for money.  According to an eye witness who narrated to eshikumo2030, the Incident occurred in Bubala area emahongoyo at the funeral of one Rasto Anjia.  Mr Eshitikha had attempted to give mourners money but the cash ran out and he had to be rescued from irate youths who were baying for his blood. At one point, the youths had heckled the candidate when he was addressing the mourners accusing him of being a project by the outgoing Governor Whycliffe Oparanya 's wife Priscilla.       DRAMA AT HEALTH CS IS STONED IN KAKAMEGA.  Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe’s motorcade comprising at least eight vehicles was pe lted with stones in Kakamega Town on Saturday morning (August 8) by irate residents. The residents channeled their anger towards the minister after area governor, Wycliffe Oparanya, allegedly ordered the demolition of their business stalls early Saturday to “pave way for the grand arrival of Kagwe”. Oparanya, who had arrived at his office at around 7am in preparation of welcoming the Ministry of Health boss to the county, also had his convoy stoned as he sought to address the aggrieved crowd. A meeting between Oparanya and Kagwe was to be held at the governor’s office early Saturday, and, thereafter, the two leaders were to tour Mumias Level 4 Hospital, before finally addressing journalists at the Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Hospital.
