" It's unfortunate that Mumias Sugar issues has been politicised and localised  while investors out there are saying Mumias is a viable project" He said. Mr. Baraza who it is claimed will contest in the 2022 race as Kakamega Governor told his listeners that he was well connected and that he had to take it upon himself to "wake up the sleeping giant" He said as a farmer, he would support any investor coming to the company and wondered why local elected leaders were fronting conditionalities for those interested in investing at MSC. There are three things that cannot be hidden for long: The sun, the moon, and the truth. Last week, the truth behind the close tie between Mumias Sugar Company Receiver Manager PRV Rao and Devki Group was made public.  Apparently, Rao and Devki of Narendra Raval started transacting businesses long time ago. This became evident during the grilling of Rao about leasing of Mumias by the Standing Committee of Agriculture chaired by Embu senator Njeri Ndwiga “There was a time I was the Receiver Manager of Kwale International Sugar Company I sold machines as scrapes to Devki steel,” Rao told the senators. Rao and Devki are believed to have struck a deal that would have seen the latter take over Mumias Sugar Company. However, the deal between Rao and Devki hit a snag due to public outcry that led Devki to withdraw his bid to avoid being subjected to public scrutiny on how he had won the bid. Farmers, political leaders and players in the sugar industry were shocked how Devki may ha

MUMIAS SUGAR: DONT TRUST DEVKI PUSHERS.

EDITORIAL Mambo kangaja, huenda yakaja. It's time to ask very difficult questions about Mumias Sugar.  We will not allow Whycliffe Oparanya a pensioner, a pretender who rode on luck and supervised Mumias Sugar's rape while he held powerful government portfolios and Ayub Savula a broker turned Lugari MP who played ball, who helped import and repackage Sugar in Mumias-branded Ganny bags, a baron who was at the center of the theft, played cover up using The Standard Newspaper where he was a correspondent to cheer the thieving Evans Kidero and DUPPED farmers and share holders thru hollow reports of profits where non existed.  It is time to PUBLIKALY name and shame the individuals like Benjamin Washiali who were used to kill the farmer's voice MOCO on the pretext that it was a useless go-between yet we all knew it was the alternative voice for the farmer. At the hight of it individuals who pretended to have a farmer's well being at her at mellowed down and ate wi

He dismissed claims by the DEVKI steel boss Raval Narendra that he had pulled out of the process of selection. "As the received of Mumias Sugar, I read in the press of the withdrawal but nothing official is on my desk" He said. Senators led by Kakamega's Honourable Cleophas Malala had taken the receiver

MUMIAS SELLOUT PLOT: KSH 5B WAS A NASTY BAIT.

By Amunga Peter. When ANC PARTY LEADER H.E. Musalia Mudavadi met members of the press early this week he raised genuine questions and concerns that he wanted addressed even as a financier is sought to revive Mumias. Among the issues Musalia raised and which sen. Cleo Malala repeated in the senate and on radio include: 1. Mumias Sugar  Nuclear Land* is consolidated & enjoys *a permanent big source of water called the Nzoia River*, It is a perfect replica of *Delamare farms* in Naivasha, infact *Mumias nuclears is much bigger. Such a resource cannot be sold for a mere 5 billion. There should be consultations on this. *2. Mumias land* is Ideal for *commercial dairy farming, horticulture & irrigation*. There are concerns that a privateer like *Devki* may not be interested in reviving *Sugarcane* farming in Mumias. He may turn Mumias nuclears for other agro based productions. Mudavadi thus wants more scrutiny on the same. 3. Mudavadi wants proper valuing of Mumias. Curre
