    KAKAMEGA CHIEF OFFICERS TO BE SACKED.           Governor Oparanya meeting members of his Kitchen cabinet.        BY JOEL ESHIKUMO     Kakamega county chief officers are a worried lot after word  leaked out that governor Wycliffe Oparanya has secretly been meeting his kitchen cabinet to reshuffle and sack a number of them. It is imperative to note that at the county, plum positions of executive members are all held by women. Rachael Okumu (agriculture, irrigation , cooperatives , livestock , veterinary services and fisheries), Beatrice Savana ( finance, planning and ICT) and Rodhab Awinja Masaviru ( public service & administration). The trio is referred to as powerful women sorrounding Oparanya.The only men holding powerful cabinet slots are Kizito Matemba ( health services), and Geoffrey Omulayi ( roads, public works and energy). CHINESE MAN CONFRONTS CAS NDETI

An unamed Chinese man argues with a team of Govt Officials led by Transport CAS Wavinya Ndeti.                                                                                           There was drama on Wednesday after a Chinese man stopped Transport CAS Wavinya Ndeti and several government officials from inspecting a Ksh.1 billion project in Liwatoni, Mombasa. Several videos making rounds online showed Wavinya and several other people in a heated disagreement with the China Road and Bridge Corporation contractor. The contractor had locked the gates and informed the visitors that he needed to have been informed of the visit. One man can be seen shoving the Chinese engineer aside as the visitors and journalists made their way into the gate.       DRAMA AT HEALTH CS IS STONED IN KAKAMEGA.  Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe’s motorcade comprising at least eight vehicles was pe lted with stones in Kakamega Town on Saturday morning (August 8) by irate residents. The residents channeled their anger towards the minister after area governor, Wycliffe Oparanya, allegedly ordered the demolition of their business stalls early Saturday to “pave way for the grand arrival of Kagwe”. Oparanya, who had arrived at his office at around 7am in preparation of welcoming the Ministry of Health boss to the county, also had his convoy stoned as he sought to address the aggrieved crowd. A meeting between Oparanya and Kagwe was to be held at the governor’s office early Saturday, and, thereafter, the two leaders were to tour Mumias Level 4 Hospital, before finally addressing journalists at the Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Hospital.      I WAS FRAMED SAYS KAKAMEGA MINISTER      BY CORRSPONDENT A Kakamega government minister arrested by police last Friday reportedly having fun with a minor at a popular hotel in Bungoma town has accused the police for allegedly setting him up, recording a video of the incident and uploading it on social media platforms to scandalize him. Robert Kundu Makhanu yesterday reported to his new station at the lands, physical planning and urban development offices for the hand over exercise and later told the People daily on phone that he was framed for personal difference with a police officer in Bungoma. “You know I’m a government minister, that issue is being handled by the legal department of the county.
