Image
By Mwalimu Amunga AKHANYALABANDU It's now official. CLEOPHAS MALALA is the new secretary General of the ruling UNITED DEMOCRATIC PARTY. The Kakamega ANC PARTY chairman takes the largest and well funded UDA.  Malala is the vibrant youthful leader from Kakamega county who rose from a classroom drama teacher to MCA in Shweywe ward, to leader of minority in KAKAMEGA county assembly and to Senator all under ANC PARTY. He vied for Kakamega county gubernatorial seat but lost. During the Earthquake of Musalia Mudavadi at Bomas it was said that the major groundwork of bringing Weta and Mdvd to Ruto was done by  CLEOPHAS MALALA. It was just a matter of time that president Ruto rewards CLEOPHAS MALALA. And he has done it  The lefting of Malala from ANC PARTY party formerly led by Musalia is big indicator that ANC is winding up. Anyone still sticking on ANC will be equivalent to a fly sticking to a corpse that is being buried. With Musalia Mudavadi gone, Cleo gone, and most LUHYA m

FOCUS: AZIMIO'S DR BRIAN LISHENGA THE KAKAMEGA SENATORIAL GAME CHANGER.

As August 9th is fast approaching, the Kakamega County elections narrative is set to change for good. Since the advent of devolution, voters will get the real value for their votes in office of the county senator if they make the right choice. Today ANC has been unequivocal that they will field candidates in all positions from MCA to governor that locks out the Outgoing senator who has declared his intention to replace Governor Oparanya thereby locking horns with his predecessor Dr. Bonny Khaslwale at that level.  This is a blessing in disguise for Dr. Brian Lishenga whose CV fits the office he is set to contest in the coming elections. The debater and educationist with enough experience and exposure could be said to be an embodiment of humility and decency. One of the lessons from his life is that, the real leader is one whose altitude is determined by his attitude; one who has been elected by destiny to take responsibility for a people. Brian's apparent dignified comp

WHAT THE KAKAMEGA ANC FORMATION WOULD POTEND.

Analysis by George Omulama in Butere.  Politicians in Kenya have a tendency of forming alliances towards the general election. Kakamega County has not been left behind as various contestants begin to eye the various elective positions in the 2022 race.  A quartet of leaders looks to form a political force through the Western dominant ANC party to contest for the various elective positions in the forthcoming general elections. Senator Cleophas Malala.  Is a well-known vibrant politician capable of attracting youth votes that can tilt the balance of any contest at the county level. With the previous Governor having come from lower Kakamega, it is expected that Upper Kakamega voters might be convinced to back one of their own, this time round.  The former Deputy Minority leader has mobilised the youths through his Cleo Malala super Cup and it is expected the youth will be the backbone to his campaigns.  The prospective Governor’s headache will be how to show that h

BBI: RAILA SHOULD LISTEN TO TOP LAWYERS NOT HIS ELDER BROTHER OBURU.

BY LAWYER GITOBU IMANYARA.  With CJ designate Martha Koome going through the motions to succeed David Maraga as Chief Justice and President of the Supreme Court, the immediate former Chief Justice must be happy that his last official act in office has had his desired wish: to avenge President Uhuru Kenyatta’s promise to “revisit” the Judiciary after the Supreme Court’s nullification of the presidential election of 2017. Although the Chief Justice is just one among equals in the country’s apex court, the Chief Justice enjoys the unique power and responsibility of constituting High Court’s constitutional benches. This power of empaneling more than one judge to hear and determine which judges should determine a dispute is exercised solely by the Chief Justice. It is a discretion exercised without any rules as to how it should be exercised. So, when Chief Justice Maraga appointed High Court judges Joel Ngugi, George Odunga, Chacha Mwita, Teresia Matheka and Jairus Ngaah to hear
