IMMUNIZATION: BUTERE STAKEHOLDERS PONDER NEW EFFORTS.

SEVERAL leaders and Stakeholders in Butere Sub County are pondering ways to improve routine immunization uptake. 

This was at a meeting that brought together religious and Opinion leaders, the administration from both cou ty and national government. 

The meeting held at a Butere hotel acted as a brains storm of think tanks after it emerged that the area fell back in as far as the last exercise was concerned. 
THE Butere sub county Health Records officer taking participants thru the records in as far as Immunization is concerned. Numbers are low. 

Leaders carefully selected because of influence from across all the five wards of Butere spent close to ten hours in deep engagement with Heads of immunization from Kakamega and Nairobi. 

The meeting, opened by Butere Medical Officer of Health (MOH) Dr. Jairo Songa was attended by among others the Butere DCC Mbiuki Mutembei, the Sub County Administrator Hillary Angoche and took participants thru figures per ward. 

According to statistics, Marama Central Ward had the biggest number of Children with zero immunization at 1,212 followed by West, Marenyo, North and South. 

Stakeholders and facilitators cracked their heads on how to device new ways to reach the unemunized children that are, according to Madam Madam Catherine Mutheu the national immunization official at danger themselves and to others. 
MADAM Catherine Mutheu from the National Immunization program baring out facts and myths about immunization in the country. 

" Zero immunized children are not only a danger to themselves but to even the other population that is immunize because they prevent us from attaining hard immunity" She said. 

Madam Mutheu said there was need for joint effort amongst Community Health Practitioners (CHPs) to map out and mob up the endangered children. 

" Children living with disability are also on the list of those who can't access immunization because of stigma but we will only achieve our if we put in a little effort" She Said. 

The Meeting resolved that every stakeholder will be held responsible for their role in as far as immunization and access to vaccines is concerned.

Mr. Mutembei gave his word that he will use his office to achieve the intended immunization percentage by being pro active and invited all informats to provide information on hiccups hindering the exercise. 

The Butere Sub County Administrator Hillary Angoche said he will use his network of Community Administrators for any networking activities in as far as health is concerned. 

Among the attendees in the brainstorm gathering included the Sub County HRIO, SCHPO, HCCHSC, SCHPO, SCPHN, SCHRIO.😂

BUTERE COUNTY HOSPITAL: TOP MEDIC DEMOTED IN CHANGES.

THE long-serving Butere County Medical Superintendent Dr Alfred Ambundo has been demoted and retained at the same facility as mere doctor.  In changes contained in a letter sighned by the CO Health David Alila, the hospital Administrator Dalton Mweresia has been uprooted and taken to Malava Hospital in the same capacity. These changes come in the wake of a report in which bees that had built a nest at the hospital for long periods of time attacked and killed an elderly patient almost three weeks ago. Kakamega Governor toured the hospital to access service delivery twe weeks ago where he met CHPS and visited the Hospital pharmacy where assorted medicine was stocked.  The letter dated 10th July stares that the removed officers were supposed to facilitate smooth handing and taking over. It is hoped the changes will enhance service delivery especially at night and weekends when the facility is said to be empty without staff.  ENDS .
