A VILLAGER'S OPINION ON CHIEF FERNANDES BARASA AND OTHER LEADERS FROM KAKAMEGA.

Below is a letter we received from a villager in the remote parts of Kakamega County. We publish it unedited. 

 AS you read this, Mumias Sugar Company - MSC- has gone thru all the stages of forceful death. Strangulation and Rigger Mortise. It COULD as well have gone to be with the LORD.

Obituary writers have started writing the last chapter of a company on whose over 1 million lives of residents of Western Kenya depended. Mumias Sugar will now not be a campaign tool for politicians in 2022 because voters are no-longer gullible or ignorant to elect loud mouths promising to "wake up" the company. 

Like a crocodile that uses a corpse or carcasses to catch flies, many people have used the company as a trap to "set aside" millions of shillings to be frittered. Individuals are in office for mouthing "revival of Mumias Sugar" at the campaigns to voters and Pronto they are elected. Today, thanks to Matungu MP Peter Nabulindo alias Magufuli whose Campaign on the By-elections did not dwell on MSC revival as an item on his menu.

Honorable Nabulindo ran an open minded campaign that was ISSUE-BASED and it resonated well with the grassroot, this shows that victory can still come with sincerity and openness. It's time sincerity permeated election promises, it is time those seeking political office 2022 and beyond are held to account for EVERY WORD realistically.

It is time those seeking political office again after watching, cheering or taking part ACTIVELY or PASSIVELY in the rape of Mumias Sugar Company are punished at the ELECTIONS for OMISSION or COMMISSION. There should be a new breed of political leaders in Kakamega County who are sincere and forthright and ready to serve with VERVE away from the populist charlatans that have been riding voters roughshod year in year out but with ulterior motives. 

Individuals with DEMONSTRATED track records, educated managers, thinking and feeling human beings, quite but RESOURCE managers, slow but sure workerhollicks like Johnson Manya Naicca in Mumias West, KETRACO boss Fernandes Baraza, Business man David Wamatsi in Mumias East, Michael Keya in Butere, Valentine Opembe in Butere, Andrew Toboso in Butere, Peter Nabulindo in Matungu and Henry Wanyundi in Mumias West among many, not robots that have gone thru the furnace and acquired pretense as a second being. People with the will to serve.

As the villager I am, it's good 2022 elections will be idea-based, because reality has over the years sunk in that if a leadership is rotten it tends to make maggots out of those BEING LED. Anybody beginning at a ward level who is TODAY Campaigning for known thieves, con men /women who have crawled from their hideouts to try their luck ONCE MORE to occupy political office in 2022 just because the said individuals are YOUNG or ENERGETIC should be ashamed of themselves. IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO BE YOUNG. 

The list is out there. I repeat : EVERYBODY who was around as Mumias Sugar was being dismembered and BUTCHERED as they held leadership positions and failed to raise a finger MUST BE punished at the BALLOT by the voter MAGIC BULLET. 

Let me finihs it this way, EVERYBODY who was inside or outside of  Mumias Sugar as it was used like a crocodile uses a carcass to CATCH FLIES must not see leadership in 2022. A regurgitated leadership only serves its purpose, a leadership based on jokes takes lives as a joke, a leadership that is constantly afraid to bell the cat will always have mediocrity as it's raw material and a leadership that seeks to reward underperformance ends fast.
