GOVERNOR BARASA DARES ABROAD FOR KAKAMEGA.
IN a whirlwind tour of Germany, Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa met with officials of Asklepios Medical Facility in Cottingen City, and discused potential cooperation opportunities in the healthcare sector.
The meeting was aimed at exploring avenues for collaboration and knowledge exchange between Kakamega County and the facility, which is known for its world-class medical services and cutting-edge research and technology.
The facility's representatives highlighted the potential for joint projects focusing on medical training programs, knowledge sharing, and infrastructure development in the County, with the key being the completion of Kakamega County Level-6 Referral Hospital.
The governor expressed enthusiasm and satisfaction after the meeting, stating that it's a significant step towards improving healthcare services back in Kakamega.
This comes barely two weeks after the County penned an understanding between it and a US-based firm for the construction of an organic fertilizer plant at Matawa at a cost of Ksh. 1.2 billion.
Later on, Governor Barasa, held a meeting with Kenya's Ambassador to Germany, Mr. Tom Amollo in the capital Berlin.

The meeting served as a crucial platform for discussing various developmental initiatives and exploring opportunities for cooperation between Kakamega County and Germany through the embassy.
During the meeting, Governor Barasa expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for his steadfast commitment to promoting Kenya's interests in Germany.
The ambassador, on the other hand, praised Governor Barasa for his visionary leadership and acknowledged the significant strides made by Kakamega County in various sectors these few months of leadership.
