GOVERNOR BARASA SAYS THE BILL IS GOOD BUT........
KAKAMEGA Governor Fernandes Barasa this afternoon defended his position on the controversial Finance Bill 2023 at a function where President Ruto was present.
Speaking at a church service at ACK Christ Church Cathedral in Kakamega, Governor Fernandes Barasa said it would be unfair to throw away the bill in toto urging that sections of the same were of benefit.
He defended himself against last Week's claims by the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua that he was championing against the bill adding that he has all along called for public involvement in the law-to be.
Guv Barasa also emphasized the importance of the President's involvement in the revival of the sugarcane industry by spearheading a Sugar Conference.
This conference would serve as a platform to facilitate discussions and decisions that would revive the sector and contribute to the economic empowerment of the Western region.
The Governor also appealed for continuous support from the National Government in the expansion and upgrade of the Kakamega airstrip, as well as the timely completion and operationalization of the 750-bed capacity Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Hospital.
