HOW ODM'S PLAN TO RIG HON. NABULINDO OUT COLAPSED.

Details are emerging on what led to the flopping of a plan to steal the Matungu Election by Kakamega County top officials including  Governor Whycliffe Oparanya.

A source has told this blog that the night preceeding the Matungu elections on 4th, a high powered meeting in Mumias mapped out all the polling stations especially those "non receptive" to the ODM Aspirant David Were.

At the meeting, was Kakamega top goons, shadowy Contractors, contractors, MCAs allied to ODM and known criminal elements available for hire.

The plot was to give trusted people money and transport them to Matungu in the wee hours of the morning and as polling stations opened, individuals or groups of people are given money to vote for David Were.

A sickly MCA and his shadowy partner the contractor were to supervise the "greasing" and at it hit 12 noon. ODM would have the numbers.

As this was happening. On the ground, troops of desperate youths were moving from door to door dishing out Ksh. 1,000 per household from Munami to koyonzo all the way to Nanyeni.

Our source who we will not name claimed too leaders in the brigade including Kakamega Women representative Elsie Muhanda, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, MP Charles Were and their candidate were sure that the polls will be "stolen to the man".

"They were very confident, the web was woven so carefully that had nothing been done, the target was 20,000 votes for David Were" said our source who was in the meeting.

For instance, Roads Minister Mr. Omulai who comes from Matungu was the blue eyed boy during the campaigns. His job was to collect money from CECs and instruct them to cook up dosuments to account for the same.

All friendly contractors had deposited Ksh 2m each towards the winning and rigging of the elections in favor of ODM as the polls were treated as a matter of life and death. Hon Were was to win.

At the Mumias hotel meeting, a section of MCAs like Khalaba's Osanga and Koyonzo's Godliver had offered to fuel all cars in the operation the next day.

The waterloo of the plan came as a section of those involved felt dissatisfied with the said allowance they were given. Roads and public Works Minister Geoffrey Omulai who comes from Matungu had a special duty: to collect money from all his colleague CECs and "Cook" figures for the AUDITOR General.

When the meeting ended at midnight and the ground troops believed they had covered enough households to give David Were Victory, word leaked to Kakamega Senator Honourable Cleophas Malala who was hiding somewhere in mumias town waiting for his sources to give him information.

It was credibly leaked, everybody mentioned and given money to rig the election was marked by 8am in the morning on the election day.

As polling stations were opening at 6am, Senator Malala and his "vote protection unit" had marked the contractors, Ministers, MCAs, and other so called business people who had been assigned to buy voters and steal the election.

Photos of all the Oparanya Ministers where printed and given to youths who were toan the polling stations on the election day.

When the youth begun exposing the so called election thieves, Governor Oparanya and his CECs were very afraid and opted to stay at a Mumias hotel to monitor the situation.

At exactly 12.30 pm, youths got wind that Mayoni MCA Libinus Oduor and Dan Atoko a shadowy contractor were at a school in Matungu buying voters, the team raided and confisticated among others money and ODM Marked masks.

In another place ODM official Nabii Nabwera was spotted scheming how to enter a polling station unnoticed, he was flushed out by youths, arrested but the police cane to his rescue.

Several of the arrests of the allaged thieves including Kakamega Businessman cum contractor Cleophas Shimanyula alias Toto completely crashed the rigging web and denied ODM and Oparanya the much yearned for victory in the Matungu polls.

ANC's Peter Nabulindo who based his campaigns on peace and a manifesto that resonated with the electorate carried the day with over 14,409 votes against ODM's Were's 10,000.

Our source has claimed at one point Oparanya who was holed up at the hotel, was forced to be evaluated to his Butere home after word went round that ODM youths were planning to raid the hotel and demand for their allowances over the door to door campaigns.

Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala outfoxed the ODM rigging machine in Matungu using information gathered at the right time.
