MATUNGU MP HON. NABULINDO SEEKS TO SWITCH OFF ODM LIGHTS.
HON. NABULINDO speaking after meeting all Matungu ODM MCAs.
Story by Joel Eshikumo.
IN what many have seen as a show of political maturity, Matungu MP Hon. Peter Nabulindo launched a charm offensive on his detractors in the March by election.
Speaking yesterday on the sidelines of a meeting with the four ODM elected MCAs in Matungu, the legislator said it was time to heal the wounds.
None of the five elected MCAs Oduor Lininus, Mayoni, Osanga Bonface, Khalaba Godliver Omondi, Kholera
George Mukodo, Namamali and
Harry Shikuku of Koyonzo supported the MP.
The MCAs campaigned for the March loser ODM's David Were with the back up of Kakamega Governor Whycliffe Oparanya who is the Deputy Party leader and lost to ANC's Hon Nabulindo.
At the meeting the MCAs affirmed their commitment in support of the MP and his agenda for the Constituency.
HON Boniface Osanga went on to dismiss the election petition filed by his party terming it as still birth.
The MCAs said they will jealously guard the Nabulindo-era saying it was too short to he detracted by court cases and called on its dismissal.
"Matungu is bigger than one person, we can not afford to loose focus on service delivery because of selfish interests or Cort battles time is running out" Said Mr. Osanga.
HON Nabulindo thanked the leaders for their move adding that he would see it better if they all left ODM and moved to ANC under Hon Musalia Mudavadi a party he said was democratic and focused.
There have been calls to drop the election petition filled by Governor Oparanya at Kakamega from leaders across Matungu saying that will hasten healing.
The leaders have told the ODM looser David Were not to be used by the party to ruin his chances at politics in Matungu in 2022 and beyond.
There have been meetings between Hon Nabulindo and most obedient followers of the former MP David Were the latest being former Councilor Okelo Ngenge who pledged to work with the MP.
