MUMIAS SUGAR: DONT TRUST DEVKI PUSHERS.

EDITORIAL

Mambo kangaja, huenda yakaja. It's time to ask very difficult questions about Mumias Sugar.

We will not allow Whycliffe Oparanya a pensioner, a pretender who rode on luck and supervised Mumias Sugar's rape while he held powerful government portfolios and Ayub Savula a broker turned Lugari MP who played ball, who helped import and repackage Sugar in Mumias-branded Ganny bags, a baron who was at the center of the theft, played cover up using The Standard Newspaper where he was a correspondent to cheer the thieving Evans Kidero and DUPPED farmers and share holders thru hollow reports of profits where non existed.

It is time to PUBLIKALY name and shame the individuals like Benjamin Washiali who were used to kill the farmer's voice MOCO on the pretext that it was a useless go-between yet we all knew it was the alternative voice for the farmer.

At the hight of it individuals who pretended to have a farmer's well being at her at mellowed down and ate with the Oppressor Evans Kidero.

Some who refused to play ball were sent to prison on frivolous, preposterous if not trampled up and imaginary charges.

Those who were unlucky were killed in the struggle RIP George Nandwa and Gabriel Atoko who were poisoned and died for standing up against the rape of Mumias Sugar.

Those who went to prison were promised longer illegal prison terms but all that came to an end.
Had leaders at that time listened to the voices of reason amongst them Rodgers Omurunga, Musa Ekaya, Boniface Manda and many small time councilors whose voices were out there, we would not be talking of receivership leave alone investment.

I have said many times that we should not seek to to revive Mumias Sugar using the same mentality of individuals who were there and did nothing or little to stop it from speeding to death.

Mumias Sugar's collapse and the lose of livelihoods can not be gain said, let KCB and the receiver Manager and a few reasonable constitutional institutions shop for an investor in a process not only transparent but seen to be transparent.

Attempts to lord over individuals onto the receiver is a recipe for chaos and speculation. The DEVKI-Oparanya-Savula axis is shrouded in secrecy and must be rejected.

Stakeholders must be brought on board in an open process and this should be done before a soul moves to court fir insolvency proceedings. And that is the heart of the matter.
ENDS.
