COVID: MUMIAS LAUCHES WHO 14 DAYS OF ACTIVISM

MUMIAS WEST Sub county has launched its 14 days of activism on Covid-19 vaccination outreach.
Speaking at the Mumias Level 4 hospital, the MOH Dr. Edward Muchelule the World Health Organisation sponsored initiative must trickle down.
At a stakeholder's meeting that brought together, Matatu welfare, bodaboda, market officials, Education office and the police, Dr. Muchelule reiterated the need for vaccination.
Flanked by Caren Akinyi the Sub county community health officer the medics sought to debunk myths associated with the vaccination aftermath.

" The media should help us conveying the information out there be vigilant because misinformation could ruin the good initiative" Said Caren Akinyi.
On her part Rachel Oluteyo the Public Health Nurse said after vaccination individuals still needed to put on masks as a matter of precaution.
"people have assumed that once vaccinated, the don't put in masks that is tantamount to dropping the guard which is very risky" She said.
The local Community Health Services coordinator Janet Masai the help to trickle down is useful in reaching out to many people and that the stake holders were encouraged to firm local groupies for vaccination like in churches, mosques, local shopping centers and schools.

The theme of this activity being Pata Chanjo KAA CHONJO, and sponsored by WHO, is a country wide rallying call to raise up the numbers of those vaccinated and open up inroads to areas that have limited access to health services.
