CHANGE OF GUARD AT MUMIAS MUNICIPAL. As Chief Officer Urban areas calls for celebration.
A NEW town Manager took over Mumias Municipality this morning following the transfer of Mr. Christopher Ombunya to head revenue at the County level.
In a brief ceremony precided over by the Chief Officer Lands, housing, Urban Areas and Physical Planning Miss Faith Gitira, need for cohesion and teamwork was underscored as a factor in achieving the Governor Barasa's six point agenda.

Speaking at the Municipal hall while addressing stakeholders including market officials, the CO said the Municipal had scored highly in every performance survey.
"You know Mumias is at the heart of the Governor and everything must go upto plan so let's hold together and make sure revenue is upto date so that service delivery is guaranteed" She said.

She said the World Bank was in the process of inspecting it's sponsored projects within the municipality adding that so far there has has been good progress in Mumias in as far as cooperation is concerned.
"My ministry has not had problems in Mumias like when they complained of less light in the bus park, we have done a cabinet paper on that and also about sewerage and hope it will be approved" She said.
She said her Ministry was putting up among others, 4 water kiosks in shibale, high mast lights to light slums mjini slums and an affordable housing project on the way in the triangle of Mumias where Locals will be used in building.

Speaking at the occasion area MCA Ali Okomba and his Mumias north counterpart Ismael Muchelule said revenue was a tricky department to run urging the incoming manager to consider dialogue in hisvendevours.
" Seizing property of traders should be the last resort because as a politician, as much as the revenue is important I must stand and support traders most who are my voters" He said.
Mr. Agrey Musindalo at the taking over ceremony as Mumias Town Municipal manager. He said he will in cooperate all stakeholders.
Honourable Muchelule welcomed the new boss saying Mumias Municipality locals were keen on dialogue and being included in the decision making process.
The Meeting which saw the bringing together of members of the Kakamega County Revenue Agency (KCRA) led by Nashon Aseka, resolved to work together with Mr. Agrey Musindalo the new Manager to actualize the aspirations of the County Government.
