WE WILL CONTINUE COLABORATING WITH THE PRESIDENT - GUV BARASA SAYS.
This morning, H.E. FCPA Fernandes Barasa joined other national leaders, led by H.E. President Dr. William Ruto, at Amutala Stadium in Kimilili, Bungoma County, for an interdenominational church service.
In his address, the Governor thanked the President for prioritizing the development of the Western region, particularly Kakamega County. He highlighted several key projects, including the upcoming launch of a gold refinery in Ikolomani next week; the ongoing construction of Bukhungu Stadium to international standards; the planned completion and takeover of the Level 6 hospital; and, the upgrade of Kakamega Airstrip. These projects are expected to be significant economic game changers for the region.
"As leaders, it is our responsibility to promote unity and collaboration. By valuing and respecting each individual's contributions, we can harness the power to drive our community towards greater achievements. In the pursuit of economic recovery, we urge our leaders to desist from retreating into ethnic comforts and focus on uniting Kenyans," he noted.
He said no county can survive on its own putting in mind that President RUTO's government had opened all avenues for collaboration.
Last week, Governor Barasa told off his predicesor who he accused of attempting to cripple the Kakamega County Assembly.
Hon Barasa laughed off Whyclife Oparanya's asortions that he wanted to be president of this country and dismissed such talk as child play adding that Oparanya did not have "structures".
