GUV BARASA "PROMOTES" COORDINATORS TO TOP COUNTY ORGAN.

KAKAMEGA GOVERNOR Fernandes Barasa early this week promoted all his Mashinani Coordinators to sit in service Delivery meetings as members.

At a closed door meeting in his Kakamega Office, the county boss ordered the County secretary Dr. Laurence Omuhaka who was present to "make sure" the Coordinators are fully involved.

"I have noted that we have a missing link. Because as grassroot workers , you must be equipped with every project the county is undertaking or PLANNING to do as to be able to coordinate or disseminate the information" He said.

According to laws governing the county, the monthly meetings are used as a yard stick to measure the distribution of projects and the value the same adds.

With the involvement of Mashinani Coordinators incharge of entire twelve sub counties from Butere to Likuyani, the Governor seems to have decided to cast his net wide in as far as his gospel in management is concerned.

At the  Monday meeting, Governor Barasa called on all the 23 coordinators to take charge of Kazi Mashinani a program that sees men, women and youth work for a sustainable stipend every month.
However, the Governor complained that there was a section of coordinators who had cowed away from taking charge of the program and had left outsiders to make changes and meddle.

"I gave you this program to run, you come from different backgrounds from teachers, journalists, managers, seasoned politicians, mobilizers, Public speakers and musicians but I have intelligence that some of you have sat back to let other people run the program at subcounty, ward and village level, that is unacceptable " He lamented.

Governor Barasa promised to look at all the complaints tabled by the Coordinators and promised to address them soonest.

The county boss said he was however satisfied by performance of most coordinators in their areas and encouraged them to keep the mashinani spirit alive saying that is the only way society can feel governance.

"We mist stand with families that are bereaved in Funerals and hard times, Iam happy most of you go out of your way to represent me and my office, let's continue with the spirit because when misfortunes knock nobody is ready". He said

Governor Barasa ordered that coordinators should be the final authorities in the selection, deployment and replacement of the Service Men and women and promised to engage the minister and Director in charge of the County Youth Service and Women Empowerment Program (CYSWEP) to settle matters arising.
