GOVERNOR BARASA AND NABULINDO UNION WILL IT HOLD?

OPINION BY JOEL ESHIKUMO.

KAKAMEGA Governor Fernandes Barasa is a trustworthy individual, well bred, sincere and does not backbite people he disagrees with. What is shared privately remain so.

If he does not agree with you, he will ask you on your face why you are not in tandem with agreements and or decisions commonly taken.

FCPA OGW Fernandes Barasa will keep his promise, he will not tell you yes to mean no or no when he means yes. Within his cysles he listen and reads alot of "fitinas" sent by detractors but that has never made it to his decision-making table.

When I saw Matungu MP Peter Oscar Nabulindo proclaiming loudly at a funeral that he had no problem with Governor Barasa, I went out to look at history since the exit of his predecessors MPs Devid Were and the Late Omurunga.

Quckly the next day, the MP crafted a "CDF team" harpharzadly and appeared at the Governor's home in harambee to, according to media reports, "discus development".

From where I sit, leaders must collaborate for their voters at all levels to benefit from devolution, legislation and representation. It's my opinion that resources can parcolate to the grass roots with such unions.

I have no problem Honourable Nabulindo the Matungu MP visiting and or proclaiming what he wants in the name of "Colaboration" with anybody but honestly who will trust him looking at past traits?
TAKING VOTERS FOR WHAT? A video grab of the MP asking his voters if yo vote YES or NO to the infamous Finance Bill.

Look, Sponsor party ODM took the flack from Nabulindo in the run up to 2022 polls when the MP, then firmly in ANC said "ODM imalaanga abandu" (ODM kills political careers) but shortly after it became lucrative and he rode on it to parliament.

Look, the MP did a public participation in Matungu over the infamous Finance Bill to "listen to the people" and they told him to go to parliament and vote NO to the act.

Look, the next day he was on the floor "I vote yes". Why go to lengths to pretend to listen to people yet you have made up your mind?

I could go in and on but let me put the question and discussion at local markets from Busombi to kholera: Will Nabulindo stick with what he believes in as right or he will be swayed once "Water gets finished on the fish?"

By proclaiming that Honourable Barasa has indeed demonstrated true leadership and equitable distribution of resources since he took over and that he has agreed to this course, how long can the MP, wishy wasy as he is hold and belive in his thought?

I was seated in a dingy place in Khumailo when I saw pictures of the Governor and the MP getting cozy, I showed it to a retired teacher from kholera and he loudly said "Nabulindo amekamatwa koo na Osanga mpaka akimbilie usalama kwa kujificha kwa Governor lakini hata afanye nini, chake ki motoni"

From Where I sit, I hope this union lasts for the good of the people despite what we think. I know Governor Barasa can keep his word from the discussion between him and the legislator if Nabulindo will keep the promise without strings, threats intimidation or subtafuge, is a story of another day.
