THESE ARE GUV BARASA'S MISTAKES

"Refusing to be manipulated like a puppet by his predicesor and cartels was his major undoing" 

IN the run up to the 2022 general elections, EX Governor Whyclife Oparanya who is deputy Party leader ODM, settled for FCPA Fernandes Barasa as his successor.

The former would go on to throw his then Deputy Philip Kutima under the political bus to the chagrin of most Kabras( if how they voted that year is anything to go by).

With a war chest to boot, FCPA Fernandes Barasa launched a massive campaign across Kakamega selling himself as a resource Manager and a trust worthy person who was "able to handle a huge budget in Ketracco" and that Kakamega's 17B was nothing to manage.

Fast forward after winning, unbeknown to him, Governor Barasa started to chart his path as county boss allighning every of his move in tandem with his six piece agenda in the campaign. 

Like anybody else, Elections were over and behind us and what he was supposed to do was to deliver on his pre election pledges. 

He was wrong, he was dead wrong. A cabal of deceptive political mercenaries and political brokers who surrounded his predicesor Oparanya were waiting in the shadows.

The cartels including contractors, goons, dirty women of the night, idlers, relatives, some elected/nominated leaders who would during Oparanya's tenure, Parrot their unrefined commentaries to hold him captive to deceit thought it was time to continue sinning.

They knew they will still hobkbob around bars, consuming alcohol and roast meat and enjoy their night life, being awarded contracts in the county in night clubsbecause they narrowly thought Governor Barasa will be a puppet.

Fuelled by Oparanya himself, the cabal of dirty boys, girls and women who were used to enjoying goodies without due procedure have now reached a place and retreated to tell him with Barasa it's not easy.

Governor Barasa's plain refusal to be a puppet on strings held by Oparanya and the cartels has cultivated sparodic wars.

Governor Fernandes Barasa's refusal to be dragged into night clubs late in the night to entertain or be entertained with liters of Alcohol, kilos of roast meat and chicken by individuals who will later want favour's in the county ty is is biggest mistake.

Governor Fernandes Barasa's insistence on due process on contract issuence lowest or highest bidder as the law states is his main undoing. The cartels that fuelled the Oparanya administration  are feeling the cold, the free money in terms of contracts is not there, the county boss (because of his strict catholic up bringing) is home early. 

Oparanya is slowly becoming helpless he has tried sabtafuge with MCAs at the Assembly but he has realized it's not worth his remaining thousands. 

He has tried imposing candidates to run against Governor Barasa but he realizes maintaining the county into a campaign mood means millions to be spent. Yet his so called candidates are not keen to take on Italanyi this early. 

Oparanya has tried the party route but he realizes he can't be deputy party leader of ODM party and county chairman too, Barasa was elected chairman by the party top brass in the county. Talk of Miti imeteleza. 

Oparanya remnants and orphans are getting tired of waiting for Governor Barasa to bend low they will bring all kinds of nonsensical topics and propaganda, they will Parrot  their unrefined commentaries to hold people captive to deceit.

For Governor Barasa, the horizon is clear the stakes are high leaders emerge in times of crises, hold on the reigns tight you are the Manager trusted by most voters in Kakamega, manage, pursue your re-election pledges for the people because they will use it as a marking scheme in 2027.
