OPARANYA UNDERMINING. RAILA AND RUTO. DG SAVULA CLAIMS.
MCAs and Opinion leaders in Butere have scoffed at Former Kakamega Governor Whyclife Oparanya for attempting to micro manage operations of the ODM party despite handing over its leadership.
The leaders, fresh from party elections that saw Governor Barasa elected as ODM Chairman pointed fingers at the former Governor for attempting to install puppet officials in ODM and to undermine the party leader Raila Odinga.
At an inspection tour of the County-Funded Iranda Water project in Marama West Ward, the Deputy Governor Ayub Savula dismissed as petty the former Governor.
Speaking in Swahili, the cantankerous Savula said "Ambieni Oparanya atoke kwa hizi vitu ndogo ndogo awachane kutuma watu na kuskiza fitina Barasa ndie Governor for ten years na ni mwenyekiti wa ODM apende asipende"
The DG said the former Governor was running a cartel-like shadow government where the raw material is fitina and discussing how to bring down the current Governor.
"Oparanya sio mtu mbaya, akuje polepole tumsaidie akue Rais wa Kenya lakini akiendelea hivi itakua shida if he continues his plot to undermine the current administration"
Marjoriy leader Filippo Maina also led over 18 MCAs to condemn Oparanya accusing him of meddling in ODM affairs and attempting to arm twist Governor Barasa in as far as running the county was concerned.
"Oparanya has refused to raise to the National level that President RUTO raised him and has remained local, fighting leaders like MPs, MCAs and the Governor" Said Marama Central MCA Philip Ondako.
In a show of solidarity the MARJORITY leader led his colleagues in Butere to call the EX Governor to order saying he must respect the current county leadership and structures.
The furious leaders with MCAs from Matungu, Mumias East, Mumias West, Buthsothso South and all wards in Butere, laughed off an attempt to prevent Governor Barasa from asending to ODM leadership as compared to the luckerluster and First Timer Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera.
On his part, Governor Barasa remained calm and called on all MCAs and MPs who were against his bid to join him in county building.
" Mimi ni Gavana wa Kila mtu, wale wote walidanganywa wakae da kuleta kwingine WAKUJE Sasa tujenge County hata Chairman Mwitu bila certificate Nabii wa uongo akuje tu" He said.
The Iranda Water project under the rallying call of Amathsi Khumuliango one of Governor Fernandes Barasa's pre-election pledges is funded at Ksh 8M and serves a total of 1000 households in Marama West.
