MUMIAS WEST: NAICCA'S CASE FOR RE-ELECTION IN 2027.

Billed as a silent worker who is in touch with his electorate, Mumias West MP Johnson Naicca is attracting both praise and criticism in uqial measure. 

Mbuyu (Fig tree), as he is fondly known in social circles from Buriya to Mumias town targets the voting block but still does not ignore chatterbixes in his dealings. 

The MP is seeking re election for a third term a thing that is upsetting his scattered opponents who only want to hang on his age as a campaign tool.

1. Education & Youth Empowerment

Hon Naicca has asured that children have a chance to succeed. Bursaries for needy students, transparent and fair distribution
Support Early Childhood Development centres (ECD) with desks, books and play materials.
He has ntroduced mentorship programs in schools (career guidance, discipline & talent growth)as he Created a Ward Skills Training Program (carpentry, tailoring, mechanics, beauty, ICT) and has Partnerships with NGOs & companies that sponsor bright students his goal being No child stays home because of school fees.

 2. Jobs, Business & Economy

Keeping with his pre election pledge, the MP is keeping money in people’s pockets thru his moto: Maendeleo lazima ionekane.

Support fur boda boda and mama mboga groups with organized SACCOs and chamas as he also Created market sheds & clean selling spaces. While lobbying for youth and women enterprise funds access, 
Organize business training: bookkeeping, saving & investment 
Promoted local talents (sports, music, art) to create income
Goal: Every home has a source of income.

3. Health & Sanitation

Health is wealth ( a sick community cannot develop) together with THE county government of Kakamega, Improved local dispensaries (medicine supply & basic equipment)
Community health days: free checkups & health education. 

A program to supply sanitary towels for school girls is up and running, Clean water points and borehole, Drainage systems to stop flooding & diseases
Goal: Reduce hospital costs and prevent diseases.

4. Roads, Lighting & Security

Development starts with accessibility and safety. Grade and maintain feeder roads regularly. Install solar street lights in trading centres & paths
Work with security teams and nyumba kumi for safety in each ward. 
Support for youth community policing initiatives
Goal: Safe movement day and night.

5. Sports, Culture & Community

A strong community grows together.
Organize ward sports leagues (football, volleyball, athletics)
Build/rehabilitate playgrounds
Support community events and cultural activities. 

Empower youth through fitness & recreation programs
Goal: Keep youth busy, disciplined and united.

6. Leadership Style
Even with critics attacking him like lions on a wilder beast, the MP has kept his momentum on the ground not in office. 

Together with the provincial administration, there are Monthly public Barazas for open accountability in question and answer session.

CHIEF JESICA: FUNERAL PREPARATIONS GATHER SPEED IN BUTERE.

Kakamega county Public Service CECM Dr Boniface Okoth this afternoon led Chief Officers Faith Gitira, Emanuel Kariuki and Butere Sub County  officials at the home of the late Chief Officer Jessica Weku in Shinyulu for ongoing funeral preparations.  The delegation met family members, the church for deliberations. Another meeting will be held on Monday. Chief Officer Weku died last week after a short illness.

BUTERE COUNTY HOSPITAL: TOP MEDIC DEMOTED IN CHANGES.

THE long-serving Butere County Medical Superintendent Dr Alfred Ambundo has been demoted and retained at the same facility as mere doctor.  In changes contained in a letter sighned by the CO Health David Alila, the hospital Administrator Dalton Mweresia has been uprooted and taken to Malava Hospital in the same capacity. These changes come in the wake of a report in which bees that had built a nest at the hospital for long periods of time attacked and killed an elderly patient almost three weeks ago. Kakamega Governor toured the hospital to access service delivery twe weeks ago where he met CHPS and visited the Hospital pharmacy where assorted medicine was stocked.  The letter dated 10th July stares that the removed officers were supposed to facilitate smooth handing and taking over. It is hoped the changes will enhance service delivery especially at night and weekends when the facility is said to be empty without staff.  ENDS .
