KAKAMEGA Governor HE Fernandes BARASA has significantly upgraded and expanded Kakamega County's health infrastructure to improve access to medical services. 

A healthy people are a productive lot and that is why this administration has since taking office, invested heavily in medicine and equipment. 

Key upgrades and health centre development include:

Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Hospital: The flagship 750-bed level 6 facility is being finalised in a joint effort with the National Government to serve as a premier regional medical hub.
HANDS ON. Chief Officers for medical services Dr David Alila (Right) Chief Officer public health Rose Muhanda and Director Medical SERVICES Dr. Wandei. 

Butere Level 4 Hospital: Upgraded to offer specialised renal care services.

Khalaba Health Centre: Commissioned a new 30-bed general ward  in Matungu sub-county to increase inpatient capacity. 

Bukura Health Centre: which is in Lurambi constituency,has been upgraded to a level 4 hospital. This upgrade includes the addition of a maternity wing.
Matete level 4 Hospital: A new 24-bed ward was constructed and equipped at Matete level 4 hospital in Lugari sub-county.

Emurumba Dispensary: Renovated a health centre in Lurambi sub-county.

Nyapora Health Centre: Commissioned a new health centre in Mumias West.

Mataho Health Facility: Commissioned a new health facility in Idakho North,Ikolomani constituency.

Shikusi Health Centre: which is in Shinyalu constituency,has been upgraded. This upgrade includes the addition of a maternity wing.

Marakusi Health Centre: commissioned a new health centre in Lugari sub-county.

Busangavia Dispensary: Renovated a health centre in Navakholo sub-county.

Shamakhubu Level 4 Hospital: Revival of a stall project to create a 100-bed  modern health facility in Shinyalu sub-county.

Lukongo Health Centre: Expanded through a partnership,adding essential medical equipment and a solar power system.

GOVERNOR BARASA'S CHIEF OFFICER RESCUES BUTERE BABY.

KAKAMEGA Governor Hon Dr. Fernandes Barasa's Public Health Chief Officer Madam Rose Muhanda last evening in Butere came to the aid of a 4 years old baby born with a condition.  At Eshirembe village near the county Hutchery, the CO in the late-night engagement, has immediately paid for Baby Culture's Health insurance (SHA) for one year to enable the baby access quality and timely treatment.  MOTHERLY: Chief Rose cuddles four years old Master Culture in Butere.  In an emergency mission, CO emphasized on the need for registration into the health scheme. With the Millions, Ndakwa would have won by a land slide.  THE Malava by election dust has settled, Seth Panyako has wiped his tears and Ndakwa the winner and MP-Elect is still savoring his victory. One thing has come out clearly however because the numbers don't lie, most grassroot leaders deployed to campaign for Ndakwa in Malava should be ashamed to loudly celebrate.  This is because as we may agree a win is a win but the Malava margin and the resources that went on the ground in support do not make sense at all at all.    BOOTS ON THE GROUND: Governor Fernandes Barasa and President William Ruto's Aide Farouk Kibet syoom Malava to hunt for Ndakwa's victory.
