FOR the last couple of days, social media has been awash with stories of sex and morality at the Kakamega County Assembly.
Of rescent is where it's claimed that a top Assembly boss has made several MCAs pregnant and that she was threatening to terminate the pregnancy if he does not take him in as a second or third wife.
Eshikumo2030.blogspot.com has gone behind the claims being peddled by third parties most of them on the payroll of the assembly to use sex and morals as a tool to scare whistle blowers.
Most of of those targeted for this smeer campaign are female MCAs who are vocal and have refused to be compromised to shut down as the assembly goes to the dogs.
What the public expected is for the James Wanzala Namathsi-led Assembly to be above board but as we are reporting elsewhere, cartels most of the second or third term MCAs are out to scuttle the hopes of the public.
Thru the scaremongering, the said evil forces are determined to drive a wedge between Governor Fernandes Barasa and the Assembly in as far as appropriation is concerned.
On one hand the Excecutive claims to have already released Ksh 91M to the Assembly but the Speaker and his 'people' are telling MCAs that there is no money because part of it can't be accounted for.
In the previous second assembly, we see details and reports of massive looting led by internal trading where MCAs turned to suppliers and we're paid millions after mostly supplying clouds.
In the third Assembly, such a tradition is taking root as the leadership appears to be condoning it.
Without leading from the front and allowing whistle blowers to be depicted as vessels of illicit sex to buy their silence, both the Executive and the Assembly are on a dangerous trajectory.
Governor Fernandes Barasa must find a lasting solution on how the two arms can work in tandem with the renters of integrity and grow devolution.
At eshikumo2030.blogspot.com, we stand for the truth despite the odds, we preach it day or night, we publish it and pay any price that forces deem fit, our stand is Kakamega needs better, it's too early to start looting the Assembly, Mr. Namathsi, a lawyer by profession should not be allowed to run riot and scare whistle blowers by funding war mongers online for a dirty campaighn because this assembly could go to the dogs soonest.
At the danger of being accused of meddling, Governor Fernandes Barasa must come out strongly and admonish the assembly for the said ills because it is here that his fulcrum of Msrndekeo na Usawa call will rotate for good or for bad.
Governor Barasa must get off his talking point and make sure the Audit ordered on the Assembly is tabled and discussed and if it means throwing some of his lieutenants under the bus so be it.
ENDS.
