VIDEO: KAKAMEGA COUNTY, WHY ONGORO HAD TO GO

Image
A DAY after the Kakamega  County assembly Service Board suspended the Clerk Laban Atemba for 60 days, today, the Assembl's Marjority leader Joel Ongoro has resigned. Majority Leader for the Kakamega County Assembly Joel Ongoro resigned citing frustrations from Governor Whycliffe Oparanya in the execution of his duties.   A month ago, in a clear case of conflict of interest, the Kakamega Assembly paid  Ebunangwe Resort  a hotel owned and operated by Mr.   Ongoro   Ksh 5Million on claims that MCAs had eaten  "kienyeji"  from the resort.  The payment was orders by the Clerk despite that the hotel in not pre-qualified to offer services to the Assembly as required by the procurement rules.  Masibo said Mr.  Ongoro  was openly bragging how he was close to Governor Oparanya adding that part of the monies could have found its way into his hands.  He Said next week, arrangements are at an advanced stage for the massive ...

EDITORIAL: TINDI MWALE HOW NOT TO RENOVATE.

Image
By @eshikumo2030 Investigative Team WHAT MATTERS. It does not take an expert to know and see shoddy works weather funded by TAXE payers or private cash The works going on at Shibembe Primary both the four classes and the storey building are for lack of  better words, expensively dangerous. The four classes being 'renovated' were built in the early 70s its not logical or enough to just remove the roof, paint and use the same timber on new iron sheets. It's illogical to save on nails by straightening the old ones and still using them on the building. NG-CDF Butere put Ksh 2Million on the account of the school for the renovation. Money was withdrawn after the PMC chairman was told by the MP to sign a cheque of 350,000 to fund Butere Primary Education day.  Both the the Chairman and the Treasurer are still waiting to see the renovation Bill of Quantities for which the contractor says is still at Public Works.  According to the Chairman and Treasurer PMC shibembe p...

RAILA IN KAKAMEGA TO DISCUS SENATOR MALALA.

Image
By Amunga Akhanyalabandu. During their tour of Kakamega yesterday the AZIMIO LA Uwongo team blamed Malala for woes of Mumias sugar. Junet and Raila both singled out our vibrant senator claiming he had stopped progress on Mumias. But Cleo in a swift rejoinder captured on KTN told the AZIMIO LA Uwongo team that they looted Mumias and killed it even before he was elected. Raila who was captured on clip telling youths in Butere how he had already paid them for his presence in the region, had a rough time trying to convince abaluhya what he has done for them.  Malala told them that hasira Yao na yeye is because he has locked western region for Musalia Mudavadi. Truth is, RAILA has lost touch with Luhya NATION. His handshake thing with president UHURU is meaningless to the Luhya. If it was anything of importance we would not see Mumias sugar closed down as it is today. Let UHURU KENYATTA and Raila Odinga retire. Wamalize wakwende.

Image
President Uhuru Kenyatta during a tour of the Kenyan small arms manufacturing plant.  BY AMUNGA AKHANYALABANDU. It will never be the same again at the Government African school until Mr Orina Gerald quits. A court order yesterday quashed the decision by the BOM at Kakamega to charge parents 21 million for a partially burnt dorm. Form fours had reported back to the embattled in school this week Monday after a school fire Last night their armed and dangerous principal was supervising preps with a gun in his hip pocket. The students confronted him telling him they are not criminals to be supervised by a gun touting principal. They demanded to go back home, which they did. This time peacefully and without burning anything.

SCHOOL FIRES: KAKAMEGA PRINCIPAL DEMANDS KSH 22M FROM PARENTS.

Image
By Amunga Akhanyalabandu Parents at Kakamega high school are up in arms and have said they will defy charges OF UPTO 22 MILLION that have been imposed on them to mitigate the effects of a fire in the school last week. Parents in their WhatsApp groups have vowed to storm the school on 15th November and demand for ejection and eviction of the now proven thief of a principal one Gerald Orina and his corrupted BOM. In a letter the embattled Orina is asking for  9800 for each of the 2,200 students before they are allowed back to the now emaciated school. In addition to this, they will have to clear all fee balances and pay for the transport, pocket money uniform etc of their children. Principal Orina in a letter to parents openly lies to them that a storied dorm that houses 560 learners was completely destroyed and must be restructured. He says, 12 MILLION will go to the building and another ten million  he will buy beds and mattresses for affected learners. A big rip o...

Transiting to KASSIM WERE - THE BRAINS BEHIND STIMULATION OF TRADE, INDUSTRIALIZATION & TOURISM God showed him about: REVIVAL OF MSC  It's would have been easier to fight COVID-19 with an operational MSC today. Notwithstanding, those who perpetually brought our economy down, he is bringing hygiene in  the sugarcane sector, supporting sugarcane development, and encouraging residents in the footsteps of the Late Hon. Dr.  Elon Wameyo to go back to cane farming again! This will strongly awaken this economy.  FOOD SECURITY : Knowing that feeding of our people during this time of COVID-19 needs a well secured County with food security. WHAT THE KAKAMEGA ANC FORMATION WOULD POTEND.

Image
Analysis by George Omulama in Butere.  Politicians in Kenya have a tendency of forming alliances towards the general election. Kakamega County has not been left behind as various contestants begin to eye the various elective positions in the 2022 race.  A quartet of leaders looks to form a political force through the Western dominant ANC party to contest for the various elective positions in the forthcoming general elections. Senator Cleophas Malala.  Is a well-known vibrant politician capable of attracting youth votes that can tilt the balance of any contest at the county level. With the previous Governor having come from lower Kakamega, it is expected that Upper Kakamega voters might be convinced to back one of their own, this time round.  The former Deputy Minority leader has mobilised the youths through his Cleo Malala super Cup and it is expected the youth will be the backbone to his campaigns.  The prospective Governor’s headache wi...

OPINION : A CASE FOR FERNANDES BARASA IN KAKAMEGA BID.

Image
KETRACCO CEO Fernandes Baraza who has declared his interest to run for Kakamega Governor in 2022.  OPINION With just an annual budget of 15.2 billions, Kakamega County has been able to deliver quality services to the people because we entrusted our resources to an individual who has financial knowledge and experience in managing resources.  This great County will only be able to perform better again if we again entrust another individual who has the knowledge, experience and proven performance displayed elsewhere. Let me  elaborate here candidly why we must by all odds choose a manager to run the affairs of this county. With an already worse economic situation in our country, anyone with an eagle's eye must be able to see hard times far on the horizon. The huge loans from IMF, World Bank, Euro bond and ADB are to be paid, starting in 2-3 years time. The government must continue running its affairs regardless of this situation.   Since the...

LAWYER LEONARD SHIMAKA UNDER PRESSURE OVER ODM.

Image
Story By Shimaka Media.  Stakeholders in Kakamega County are exerting Pressure on Mombasa Lawyer Leonard Shimaka to contest as Kakamega Governor on ODM ticket. Speaking over the weekend at a Malava hotel, a caucus of Malava Professionals declared their support for his candidature in the race to replace Kakamega Governor Whycliffe Oparanya in 2022.  "We will support Leonard Shimaka to go for the top seat because as the Kabras with the biggest voting block, we have tasted Deputy Governor fir 10 years" Said Patrick Lucheveleli.  The professionals argued that Honourable Shimaka who had two months ago declared his interest in UDA ticket stood no chance due to closeness of Former Senator Bonny Khalwale to the Deputy President William Ruto. "We feel Hon. Shimaka's candidature is under threat because the former Senator who is Deputy party Leader will automatically be given the ticket thus a let down"  They said DP's UDA is a party with questionable chara...

MUMIAS SUGAR THE LIES, THE PLAYERS. PART 2.

Image
Julius Mwale at a meeting Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka, Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala and an unidentified male white man at one of the US dinners. Julius Mwale Investigation s have unearthed a series of court matters from his days in the United States that point to the kind of man he was and still is. But most importantly, they give telling details on the man's relationship with money, or rather, the lack of it. Before he came back to the country, Mwale had put his loan guarantor in trouble in the US after he failed to pay Sh15million he had acquired. His guarantor, a Ms Fiona Graham was dragged to the Nassau County Supreme Court which ordered her pay the debt that had been defaulted on. Court records show that in 2007, at the suggestion of Ms Graham, Mwale was lent Sh15million ($150,000). His company, SBA Technology, guaranteed repayment of that loan. "When the loan was not repaid, plaintiff (lender) obtained a Judgment by Confession ("Judgment" agai...
