SENATE: DR LISHENGA WILL RIGHT THE WRONGS OF KHALWALE.

Honourable Brian Lishenga is offering himself for senate as a health Ambassador because health is very close to the lives of all humans.

It is on this pedestal that he seeks to be elected as the third Senator of Kakamega County after Dr. Bonny Khalwale and honourable Cleophas Malala who is seeking governorship.

Dr. Lishenga seeks to revolutionize and change the narrative that a senator is a noiseaker, marking at the Governor, cutting deals and generally using threats to cou ty governments.

The narrative cultivated by Dr. Khalwale of bravado, chest thumping abs stomp on matters devolution is set to change when it is replaced by hope and sobriety envisaged in Dr. Lishenga.

A look at down memory lane will also assist the voter make an informed decision on August 9th on the kind of leadership in the Senate that can add real value.

The history of Dr. Lishenga's main challenger Dr. Bonny Khalwale is dotted misgivings that can not got unmentioned.

For instance, Musingu Boys Secondary school's challenges had a political dimension way back in early 2000s when the then Principal Mr. Khabongo left for Kakamega high school.

Honourable Bonny Khalwale who was then an MP for Ikolomani and an Assistant Minister in the Kibaki government interfered with the succession process as he advocated for the next principal(s) of the school to be either Mwidakho or Mwisukha.

Hon, together with some villagers resisted Mr. Aura's landing but Aura landed by force and it earned him a fictitious interdiction which led to his depression and ultimately death.

A Gikuyu principal from Alliance was brought in and he also took off barely a year after his landing because of the same interference from Khalwale and his cortorie.

After him, the school has been under two local principals, a Mr Litala -Mwidakho from Bushiangala and later on a Mr Aliva, a Mwisukha from Muranda area if am not wrong.

He appeared to turn the school around academically but it looked like the performance was rooted on cheating.

When Matiang'i became the Education CS and curtailed cheating, Musingu started trailing the less known Shikunga and even Shikokho.

During that leadership turmoil, many experienced teachers who were not Isukhas/idakhos took off under protest as by extension they were also not required at Musingu (that is how I left Musingu for Kakamega high which was quite unprecedented given the fierce rivalry that existed between the two schools.

The school now has a non Mwisukha/Mwidakho (a bukusu) as a principal courtesy of TSC's effort of de-localizing heads.
We hope for the best.

That narrative alone opens us up to the mind of challenger we face on the road to August.
