HON CLEOPHAS MALALAH'S CLEARANCE: A NIGHTMARE FOR PROJECT OPARANYA. BARASA.

By Joel Eshikumo.

KAKAMEGA SENATOR Hon Cleophas Malala has this afternoon been cleared to contest as the second Governor of Kakamega County.
Despite spanners in terms of concocted Court cases about his alleged lack of a degree being thrown his way, finally the IEBC has given him a green light and a clean bill in terms of academics.
If the energy and the team work we have seen in Kenya Kwanza Coalition in Kakamega at the past is anything to go by, then Malalah's clearance is a nightmare that has come back to haunt Outgoing Governor Oparanya and his project Fernandes Barasa.

It has now come out clearly that an attempt to kick Hon Malala out of the race was cooked at Oparanya's village Mabole and solidified at a Barasa's Harambee home.

The plan was to obtain orders from court barring the IEBC from clearing the Senator so that Barasa, Oparanya's project can have an easy ride to the helm of the county.

No wonder, unlike Malala who has campaigned like his life depends on it, Barasa has not been agressive since he bagged the Azimio Ticket.
Informed sources indicate that the court case was just one of the tricks in the bags of Oparanya and his project on the road to August.

The second attempt appears to be trying to frustrate poll Agents for Hon Malala in Lower Kakamega and tamper with the electoral process in favor of Project Oparanya.

This is informed by the fact that Outgoing Governor Oparanya and Barasa have left bad blood in the biggest vote basket of Kabras when they frustrated high flying sons of the area in leadership positions.

Settling on Ayub Savula as
Barasa's Deputy has not helped the Azimio team because Hon Savula appears to have moved alone and left his supporters who have been preyed upon by Hon Cleophas Malala and converted.

It is also evident that upper Kakamega that consists of Likuyani, Kabras Lugari, Lurambi, Ikolomani have told Oparanya and his project to forget their votes.

He was however given a geen light by the Kakamega high court to proceed and present his papers for clearance by IEBC.

Malala will now face off with Fernandes Barasa of the Orange Democratic Movement party who settled on Lugari constituency member of Parliament Hon Ayub Savula as his running mate.

The race is being seen as a battle between Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya coalition party and deputy president William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

HON. Malalah is bound to change the tempo of Kenya Kwanza campaigns in Kakamega and tilt the stakes against the ill thinking and rudderless Azimio team who appear only interested in short cuts.
