KAKAMEGA COUNTY SPORTS FETE WAS LONG OVERDUE.

A historic function was made by Kakamega County a week ago, it did not receive the attention it needs just because some people don't appreciate sport.

The county Government thru the Ministry of youth and Sports feted outstanding sports personalities that had brought pride to the county.

The low key occation tho attended by Governor Fernandes Barasa, can not go un revisited.

Over the years since the advent of devolution, all sports people who bring pride to Kakamega County, go home with  tshirts and sports machendise nothing more.

This time round, five months into office the Sports Ministry under Morphat Mandela appears to have thought of a way out, it has decided to place sportsmanship at the center of governance.

The move has been louded as befitting, encouraging and must be emulated by subsequent regimes so that sport of any kind, on behalf of the county must not only be entertainment but as a source of income to the participants too.

For long, all sorts of sports in this county have failed to attract attention from the county leadership and most of the time swept under the carpet quickly forgotten.

As a people we must loud the County Government of Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa, ministry led by Hon Mandela and other players who saw it fit to celebrate and fete victors in sports.
At eshikumo2030.blogspot.com we stand out and urge other ministries within the county to "pull up their socks" and deliver their mandate.

Though in a nut shell, in the Kenya Music and cultural festivals Kakamega was the overall best county (defending champions for nine years in a row). 

In KICOSCA, kakamega was number six nationally and the best in football NATIONALLY.

For instance, at the Ministry of Education, we must have ECDE inspected thoroughly by the county putting in mind the the county spends millions in equipping the centers.

GUARDS INJURED AS ELSIE RUNS OUT OF CASH AT FUNERAL.

A   FUNERAL  in Butere has left three body guards of Kakamega Women Representative Elsie Muhanda hospitalised after youths demanded for money at the occasion. Drama ensued when Muhanda, currently eyeing to be Governor promised money to mourners at a funeral in Mulambo area of Butere Sub County. In her short speech to mourners, Hon Muhanda had assured mourners that she had money and she could use the same in her Guberbatorial bid and that they should not worry. After her speech she told mourners to line up for a token in which she started dishing out Ksh 50 per person present.  Excited women and youths who were at the occasion started chanting songs in her praise as Woman Representative as they gyrated to  isukuti .  SAFETY : Honourable Elsie Muhanda being whisked to safety in Butere when she ran out of cash at a funeral.  Soon after her speech, hell broke loose the local MP Tindi Mwale who had taken off earlier was not present to defend The Woman representative

MUMIAS LEVEL 4 HOSPITAL: SABOTAGE OR INCOMPETENCE?

LAST week we got an e-mail from a whistle blower at Mumias Level4 hospital narrating on goings there. From the mail, it appears there is a deliberate effort aither thru ommission or commission by those charged with daily running the institution to bring it down.  Those entrusted by the County Government see that the institution lives to its name of LEVEL FOUR appear to be determined to pull it apart. Locals have failed to get services from the institution dispite the county investing in its well being in terms of drugs and Budget. As a responsible media, we set out to get a comment from those mentioned in the ongoing at the institution.
