PROF. JANET KASILY BARASA: A MIXTURE OF HUMILITY AND GENEROSITY.

KAKAMEGA county's First Lady Professor Janet Kasily has cut a niche for herself as a giver and a caretaker of the vulnerable and poor. 

Unlike other spouses of Governors who pose like flower girls besides their husbands, Prof Kasily is an embodiment of generosity, peace and happiness.

If she is not donating food stuff to the aged, poor and vulnerable, she is in church freely mingling with low class women planning how to better lives long term.

Professor Janet, despite her high flying academic credentials, she fits well with fellow women at all setups. It will take a visitor ages to choose who between the women is a Professor.

The abolisment of the office of the First Lady did not dumpen her giving spirit and from bee activities from Likuyani to Khwisero, the first lady is fast becoming a household name. 

Delegation after delegation throng her office and home, she sits patiently to listen and advice you will rarely hear her raise her voice at anything and one wonders if she ever gets upset by anything. 

To those who have closely planned and executed activities with her, Prof Kasily is down to earth. " She can give to the last coin, she can purchase food stuff and donate upto very late, the lady is at a different level" says an insider.

It is due to her forays across schools in Kakamega that the Ministry of Education has reported a drastic drop in girls who get out of school because of pregnancy. 

" Actually, her motherly advice and advocacy have seen a drop in pregnancy amongst school girls and that should be emulated and encouraged" Says an educated officer in Khwisero.

SEEKING DEVINE INTERVENTION : Prof Kasily humbles herself at a church function. 

Again, her move to donate sanitary towels in schools across the county has become a Game- changer in that girls are getting back their dignity unlike at the past when menstruation was sneered upon.

Juggling between being a Senoir Lecturer · Masinde Muliro University of Science & Technology after Education at Maeno University and Kenyatta University. Ph.D, MA, BE.D ARTS Religion and Culture, Education Arts. 2003 - 2008 · Maseno University, Kenyatta, a mother, a wife, a church official, a Chama convener and a giver is in itself a blessing for Professor Kasily.

From donations from well wishers, solicitation from donors, personal savings and small time harambees, lives continue being touched thanks to Governor Fernandes Barasa's wife Professor Jannet Kasily.
