GOVERNOR PROTECTS BUTERE MCA FROM CROWD ANGER.
KAKAMEGA Governor Fernandes Barasa last Sunday saved Marama North MCA Edwin Nandwa from an angry crowd in his back yard after a church service.
Drama begun outside Eshibimbi PEFA Church Butere when the MCA was invited to address a crowd that had formed outside to listen to the county boss.
The enthusiastic locals who, earlier thru a former MCA Sayid Omusirithsa claimed they were seeing a Governor in their backyard for the first time since devolution, shouted down Honorable Nandwa.
The Governor was forced to intervene to plead with the crowd to let the MCA address them. "tafadhali Wacheni kingozi aongee!" He said amid shouts and catcalls much to the chagrin of other leaders present.
The MCA, with difficulty and the Governor standing guard, said he appreciated their concerns and will address them at "appropriate time and forum".
However, the crowd broke into celebration when the Governor welcomed former MCA Sayed Omusirithsa to speak he said he was ready to work with the people of the ward in 2027 if elected to replace Honourable Nandwa.
Earlier, former self-declared Marjoriy leader Marenyo MCA Ondiro had pleaded with the Governor to help them finish old projects in their wards.
Speaking at the Church Honourable Ondiro said these projects if unfinished will see most MCAs fail in 2027.
" Tusaidie tumalize hizi projects zile tulianzisha even from previous administration because they remain a danger to most of us politically" He said.
Hon Ondiro said most of the ward-based projects including and not limited to Boda boda shades, springs, 10Kms roads and budgeted by the ward leaders have been used as campaign tools by their opponents.
"Your Excelency, most MCAs are weighed down by these projects please help us complete them because with that, we will grow as you grow politically" He said.
Honourable Ondiro who has been taunted as leaning towards the former Governor Whyclife Oparanya who is fighting the Barasa administration, appeared crest-fallen and pleaded for accommodation.
Speaking at the church function Governor Barasa said his administration was determined to complete all the projects initiated by MCAs in the last and this administration to the satisfaction of voters.
" I will ensure that I budget for and finish all projects in each ward because the common voters are our bosses, I will not segreget any MCA or voter" He said.
Marjoriy leader Philip Maina and other MCAs at the church function thanked the Governor for being steadfast and focused on his pre-election pledges saying he had balanced his development program across the Sub counties.
