Sirisia Member of Parliament (MP) John Waluke has pleaded with President William Ruto to help him secure freedom after he was sent to jail for 67 years over Sh297 million cereals fraud. The magistrate’s court in June 2020 sentenced Waluke to 67 years in jail or pay Sh1 billion fine for the fraud committed alongside Grace Wakhungu in 2004. The convicts appealed against the decision at the High Court. In October 2022, the High Court upheld the lower court’s sentencing of the two, saying the prosecution had produced sufficient evidence implicating the duo. Waluke and Wakhungu, however, challenged the decision at the Court of Appeal. . The lawmaker is now out on Sh10 million cash bail. By Joel Eshikumo  A MUMIAS court has issued temporary stoppage on the burial or funeral arrangements for the late Nominated Kakamega MCA Phaustine Werimo. Appearing before Mumias Senior Principal Magistrate Hon T.A Obutu, a Man by the names Bakari Owuori Ramadhani listed as a plaintiff in the suit. Orders seen by this blog restrain respondents Kakamega General Hospital from releasing the late MCA's body to two others Clesencia Maloba Werimo and Michael Werimo untill the case is heard and determined. Interparty hearing is set for 23rd November this year before Mumias Court 2. The two-time nominated MCA died at Kisumu Hospital after an operation said to have been intended to remove a clot on her leg.  ENDS .

The people of Kakamega have elected Barasa as Governor. Oparanya has served his two terms and retired. Savula can wait and win the next election and be governor. It is Fernandes Barasa to deliver to the people of Kakamega and not Oparanya nor Savula. Barasa should avoid temptations to appoint a cabinet that will have former ministers under Oparanya. If he does this mistake, those ministers and chief officers will be loyal to Oparanya and not to him.This way he won't deliver as they will be picking instructions from Oparanya. AZIMIO Kakamega candidate for Governor Fernandes Barasa yesterday told off his Deputy over claims that they had already shared Government.  Speaking while meeting Religious leaders at Bukhungu, Barasa appeared to rail at Savula's claim that already they had shared positions in the yet to be formed county government.
