THE STORY OF OGUTU

*OGUTU, OHO!*

It had rained the previous night, the retired Major stationed muscular heartless men to monitor his house. He also gave 20,000 Ksh to Ogutu's colleague to monitor not only the goons but the house and the lone female occupant.

Ogutu arrived in his KBX, Ogutu had driven all the way from Emayoni to milk the Major's cow, which Ogutu had made a habit.

The muscular men waited in the shadows, flexing their cast iron muscles swearing to teach Ogutu a lesson if not, send him to his grave. The later was the instruction.

The rest is history, today, Ogutu is lame, he can't stand, he can't sit he can only lay flat, his backbone was crashed to smithereens.

The retired Major's 'boys' worked on Ogutu in less than 8 minutes, he was bleeding, he was pleading he flashed money but the goons could hear none of that.

They disconnected the great Ogutu from the National electricity grid, they made him harmless and docile. Ohoo Ogutu!

Driver Sande was called to come for Ogutu's remains at 2am, as the goons reported to the Major that Ogutu had been flattened, pounded, crashed, punctured and vanquished.

Drive Sande had to conjure up a folk tale on what had befallen Ogutu because folks back in Emayoni would ask questions.

Quickly, Ogutu, in great pain, told Sande that the story should be that he was struck by lightening that the story of lightening must be told repeatedly for the folks to believe.

As you read this, Sande is not with Ogutu any more as a driver, Major's "cow" has moved from rentals to a new home courtesy of Major himself.

Ogutu's is shuffling from hospital to Hospital looking for help as Opicho the Village Parrot reports this, Ogutu knows that God exists.

Unlike at the past when Ogutu could hire thugs to terrorize villagers who did not agree with Ogutu's Boss, the then village Chief Chitero, Ogutu is reconciliatory in tone, But the village awaits Ogutu's death.

For want of earthly milk and honey, Ogutu will die.
