WOMAN REP MUKABANA: I AM TOO BUSY FOR POLITICAL DEADWOODS.
THE Front Runner contestant for Kakamega Woman Representative position Honourable Pennina Mukabana last evening dismissed as "spent force" her challenger Hadijah Nganyi.
In a telephone interview with eshikumo2030, Madam Mukabana aka mama mulayi said her focus and solid resolve to lead women will not be detracted by "idlers looking for relevance in politics".
Following a week of protracted war of words between the two that saw them exchange unprintable insults bordering on sexuality on social media, Mrs Mukabana said "My resolve is cast in stone, no amount of bad heart or cheap talk will make me give up"
A source embedded in UDA told this blog that the war of words was as a result of lukewarm reception the aggressor Mrs Hadija had received in Khwisero, Malava, Butere and Lurambi in recent visits by ANC's Musalia Mudavadi in the areas.
"We are aware that in most areas visited, Mrs Peninna tends to get ecstatic reception as compared to the other contestant who, as far as we are seeing in the visits ran out of steam after several attempts" Said our source.
Our Source, a UDA co-odinator in Mumias disclosed that Mrs. Nganyi was getting upset because she feels she was being upstaged by her competitor Peninna Mukabana and that was the reason she had taken to ranting.
"Being a woman who has been in politics this much and failing to get the desired reaction from the ground is hurting that's why she resorts to insulting and social media bullying her competitor" Said our source
Speaking yesterday, Madam Peninna said it was sad that her opponent has decided to "fabricate lies and use her conduits most of the divorces to spread the same on social media" terming the action as defeatist and backward.
"I know we have a nomination ahead of us it's bound to raise temperatures but I won't lower myself into a foolish competition of a looser who believes in stupid sex insults instead of reasoning out matters" she said.
Mrs. Mukabana said as a respectable married woman, she would not engage in a shouting match or seek legal redress from her aggressor but added that she will teach her a lesson at the ballot.
The former CEC Health in the Oparanya Government who was dismissed after she was accused of campaigning for Dr. Bonny Khalwale while still in office promised a bruising battle at the ballot.
Hadija Nganyi has not fallen short of trouble every election years she has contested. Last year, a group of women leaders in Khwisero accused her of "running away" with money meant for women groups after a fundraiser by the DP William Ruto for the women groups at Buchenya in Sabatia.
Opinion polls in Kakamega are showing that Madam Peninah Mukabana is a favorite to face off with Azimio's Elsie Muhanda as she has massive support across more than half the sub counties in Kakamega.
The polls show that Hadija Nganyi is a distant second with her appeal being mostly in her native MUMIAS sub county.
