SICK KAKAMEGA BOY RESCUED BY WOMEN CONGRESS.

WESTERN Women CONGRESS (Kakamega Chapter) has rescued a sick boy and saved him from imminent limb amputation.

15 years old Elvis Shikuri was left with dislocated knee when he fell and got injured at their home in Ichina village Mahiakalo ward in Kakamega.

According to Ms Tabitha Nandwa WWC's Organising Secretary who brought the matter to the women caucus, the boy from a poor family had by the time of injury stayed at home for a full month without treatment due to poverty in the family.

Polling resources, members of WWC a non profit making organization, yesterday managed to have Elvis admitted at Kakamega orthopedic hospital for specialized treatment by an orthopedic.

Speaking after the admission the WWC Officials led by the Chairlady, they said the group had been touched by the case and had to intervene.
"Service to humanity is service to God, Elvis's case came up at the time when he had been sent home for lack of school fees and we are determined to make sure the poor family is helped" She said. 
The Women organisation plans to spend Ksh 430,000 for the boy's treatment plus surgery and settle part of his school fees. 

Western Women Congress (Kakamega Chapter), modeled along Maendeleo ya Wanawake thinking, was formed to help in the well being of women and vulnerable children in society and depends on personal donations and tokens from well wishers.
