KAKAMEGA FIRST LADY'S TAKE ON DISCIPLINE AND GOOD GRADES.
KAKAMEGA First Lady Professor Janet Kasili Barasa has asked parents to promote discipline in their children as a precursor to good school grades.
Speaking yesterday at Bukolwe Primary and Junior Secondary School in Butere during an AGM, Governor Fernandes Barasa's wife said tender minds grasp virtues fast.
"Children at these ages tend to learn fast and parents must take advantage and inculcate discipline as it will overshadow any vices in future" She said.
At the function also meant to celebrate the school's performance in the 2022 KCPE results, Prof Kasilly also said early discipline will reduce cases of Triple Threats of HIV/AIDS infections, SGBV and Teen Pregnancies and was key in ensuring learners focus on their education.
In promoting menstrual hygiene, the First Lady presented sanitary pads to the schoolgirls to provide them with necessary comfort during menses. These pads, she said are essential for their health, well-being and overall academic performance.

The schoolboys at the institution were given gree underwear as this Prof Kassily said would boost their self-esteem in the learning environment.
To parents, teachers and pupils, the First Lady lauded them for their team work that led to the schools' historic excellent performance in National exams where they emerged top in Butere Sub County
She further congratulated the school headteacher Ms. Lilian Pessah for her exemplary leadership style that has managed to put the school on the map of excellence fir two years running.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, the Youth advisor to the Governor Mr. Emmanuel Makokha said the future depended on what youth are taught now adding that education was the only sure inheritance that parents can give their children for future posterity.
